Oil works great for me. I also hydrate my skin but using rose hip oil daily has been a cane changer and adding castor oil to my moisturizer
People need to learn to listen better I think. She never said that oils are useless o trash, she says that OIL IS NOT HYDRATING your skin, simple as that. It’s an occlusive, sure. softens your skin, yes, it’s mosturizing, can be. BUT IT DOES NOT HYDRATES, so, if your skin is dehydrated look for some other ingredientes to put underneath your oil if you want (glycerin, water based products like mists, etc).
I love using rosehip oil
She’s completely right. I went through a dry skin phase in my mid 20s and tried ALL the oils because I was told I need more hydration and moisture and oils would help. All they did was sit on my face in a shiny mess. (I will say out of all of them, jojoba oil was the best.)
Later on, a saleswoman at Sephora told me to get a gentle exfoliator and use a heavy cream. That was a great start and did loads more for my dry skin than oil.
Now I’m in my 40s and know exactly what to do for my dry, sensitive skin and it looks and feels amazing! Dr. Idriss, Dr. Dray and LabMuffin have helped me over the past 2 years to dramatically improve my skin. 🎊
I use 3% glycolic acid on face and lips 1-2x a week, tretinoin 5 days a week, serums/creams for my skin issues, lip mask or vaseline at night for dry lips, Vaseline during the winter as an occlusive under my eyes, rose water with glycerine mist for a boost of moisture on low humidity days.
Do people really do this much ? I cleanse my face , wear sunscreen , wash that off, and then apply a lotion-based moisturizer for the night
Castor oil and rosehip oil worked wonders for my mum. Smoothened her skin out, improved texture, redness, dryness. So I decided to jump on the wagon and used rosehip oil which is supposed to be non-comedogenic. It broke me out so bad I had to get steroid shots for large cystic acne that I had previously gotten under control. I feel like this sort of thing is highly subjective because one thing my derm told me is even allergies can be a secondary trigger of breakouts. If you’re allergic to something in the oils or if they’re packed in the vicinity of something you’re allergic to, it can break you out.
I don’t care whether you’re certified or not I AM NOT using VASELINE on my face! Period
You have an anterior bridge, which is affecting your speech and is very obvious.
She knows what she’s talking about – mainly why I watch some of her videos but her attitude and tone and the way she calls viewers “my little nerds” does not help her- grandiose complex or what ?
Does anyone have a glycolic acid recommendation that’s not the one from The Ordinary? Thank you!!❤
Your content is awesome.🥰 and an informative one🤩
Why does the skin produce oil/sebum?
I don’t know, friend. I used to do all that and I ended up with terrible acne. And I mean I TRIED allllll the good products!
I use a rice toner in the morning no soap and then vitamin c from Natorium and then habe to wait about a half and hour or more for that to since in and then I use moisturizer from Cetaphil and that barely sinks in for several hours does this mean my skin has enough moisture or do I need different products. I don’t feel dry or greasy unless I use a primer before makeup and I don’t do foundation often just tinted sunscreen. At almost 60 can this be normal we live in cold winter climate and not sure if I am doing what is correct? Thanks
This is not right at all , oil if suits you is the best thing that you can use on your skin and hair, any oil depending on your skin type , and even on damp skin works wonderfully
With age I find oils more helpful than just moisturisers.
If they are occlusives, then they are doing enough & my skin is doing the rest by itself . I’m ok with that !😊
Oils add in a few vitamins too
🤦♀️I’ve been using oil.🇨🇦
What about drinking water?
what about squalane? the other doctor said to use it for dry skin
Castor oil makes me look younger! I put on my lash line and around my eyes and eyebrows (to grow my long lashes and eyebrow hair that was over plucked in my youth).
I put castor oil after I already put my moisturizing serum and face lotion.
Does skincare need to be done morning amd evening or is once a day sufficient?
Oil is going to block your pores unless you have dry skin. Vaseline will too. I highly recommend water creams for anyone with skin issues. My favorites are the mizon and elizavecca memory cream.
Love your “glasses”😎
Face oil locks in the moisture. Prevents moisture loss
Vaseline is very bad for your skin !!!!!
Flaxseed yes, I love it.
Oh. Good to know. I spray mist then do face oil before it dries fully.
I guess I have very oily skin because I break out with any moisturizer I’ve tried so far, but my skin looks great just using mist and oil.
Now if I ever switch part of my skin routine I’ll know to look for something that really doesn’t do much, because it’s so easy for me to overdo it.
THANK YOU 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Yes yes yes 🙌🏿
True. I always use a facial oil as a last step in skin care to seal in the moisture I’ve already laid down.
As asian I diagree with drinking olive oil. Olive oil is staple for muslims and we DO drink it. Hence majority have great skins.
I did not know this. Thank you.
I gave up skincare a while ago, used to have routines from the age of 10, acne/dry/oily, spent tons of money on glowly skincare now I slug with shea butter, remove makeup with almond oil and my skin is amazing. It used to be combo, now it’s normal. No more derms stretching out my pockers 😅
Why are you using a filter? Seems a bit odd..
Try tallow! Works better than ANY cream I’ve ever tried.😅
Can’t i wear a cpap
Funny. "A face oil is not going to hydrate your skin, you do not olive oil or coconut oil or jojoba oil because you are dehydrated" so do glycolic acid, glycerin ,thick moisturizer, Vaseline 10 more serums ,.so should be what u drink to hydrate yourself ? 😂 You dint drink ceramides or glycerin or thick moisturizer or Vaseline or ointment of you are dehydrated
I would really disagree with you..I been using different kind of oil for my 54 years old skin, and it’s ɓeen life saver… I don’t drink it as you said, I put it on my face..vitamin E, argan and coconut oils are the best to use…Vaseline???? it’s cloging my pores, the ones I mentioned before do exelent job to my skin….to say more I don’t even use any make up for my skin, only SPF and my skin looks fabulous!!! ❤
I always tell people oil is meant to lock in the moisture you put on your skin already. Oil itself is not a moisturizer. And then you got those people that literally yell at other people to just not use oil at all because it doesn’t do anything oil does a lot, but you’re using it wrong.
What nonsence
Another dermatologist says that only oil is going to moisturize the skin and that moisturizer creams are a scam 🤷🏻♀️ Conclusion: do what you see it’s the best for your skin
WHY ARE YOU USING FILTERS?
glycolic acid serum vs toner which one much better?
Can a zinc baby cream hydrate your skin ?
Face oils break me out 😔
I thought you said moisturizer doesn’t work in another video?
Cream do not hydrate your skin, all creams just give a shield from enviroment factors. All marketing just lying and playing with you all.
Toxic petrol
I Had no idea you were suppose to use a moisturizer under suncreen. Thanks for that tip!
